Volunteering Participation Agreement
Thank you for volunteering with StreetWise Partners!
Terms & Conditions
In order to maintain a high standard of excellence for our volunteers, mentees and alumni, StreetWise Partners expects volunteers to comply with the Program Expectations and Code of Conduct as follows:
Program Expectations
Volunteers are expected to arrive on time for the activities and/or events to which they have committed.
For an emergency absence a volunteer must notify a staff member as soon as they are aware they will need to miss an activity and/or event, and at least 24 hours in advance.
Professional attire is required at all StreetWise events, both virtual and in-person.
Code of Conduct
Volunteers will treat mentees, and everyone in the program, with respect and professionalism.
Volunteers must maintain the confidentiality of all personal or proprietary information to which they are exposed.
Volunteers may not use their participation in StreetWise Partners to promote partisan politics, religious matters, or other affiliations.
Volunteers may not use the name “StreetWise Partners” in association with any event or activity without explicit permission from a StreetWise Partners staff member.
While participating in StreetWise Partners activities and engaging with program participants, volunteers will not engage in the following:
Discriminatory statements or behaviors, including those based on race, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, nationality, or religion.
Sexual harassment; and
Any unlawful or inappropriate activity (including but not limited to engaging in a romantic relationship, drug or alcohol use or any inappropriate social media posts, chats, or messages) with mentors, mentees, alumni or other volunteers.
The primary purpose of the program is for StreetWise Partners employees and volunteers to evaluate mentee’s and alumni potential for future success and provide objective support. During their time in the program, our mentees and alumni should be focused on developing skills and networking in a professional manner. It is imperative that no one be placed in the uncomfortable position of wondering whether an invitation to a social event by a StreetWise employee, volunteer or program participant is anything other than a chance to become acquainted as part of our overall mentorship effort. Please be mindful of this and avoid any action that might be misinterpreted. Accordingly:
Volunteers are absolutely prohibited from seeking to have or having a romantic and/or sexual relationship with StreetWise Partners mentees and alumni throughout the duration of the mentees and alumni participation in the program.
StreetWise Partners encourages our mentees and alumni to seek relationships with professionals outside of the program and volunteers may receive requests for additional interaction in terms of LinkedIn requests, coffee chats, informational interviews, etc. While we hope that these organic relationships form, we must be clear that these interactions are not part of program participation or service and therefore are outside the scope of our program. StreetWise Partners is not responsible for the communications or activities during such interactions. Should volunteers and mentees or alumni want to engage within the scope of the program, StreetWise Partners can arrange for this to happen in a structured environment and under the auspice of StreetWise Partners staff.
Photography Release
StreetWise Partners may use, in whole or in part, your photographic image, as incorporated in photographs or videos for the purpose of reproducing, distributing, displaying publicly, and/or modifying the photo or video by any means, whether in print or electronically, on a royalty-free, worldwide basis
In regard to the use of these photographic/videographic images, by volunteering with StreetWise Partners you hereby waive any right that you may have to monetary compensation, or to inspect or approve the finished product, or the brochures or other uses made of the product. You also release StreetWise Partners, Inc. and its designees or assignees from any and all liability that may or could arise from the taking and use of these photographic images and videos.
Survival of Obligations and Enforcement
For any reason and at any time, StreetWise Partners may limit, terminate, dismiss or otherwise modify my volunteer service. The obligations that I have under this Volunteer Participation Agreement shall survive the termination of my volunteer service, regardless of the reasons or method of termination; provided, however, that upon my delivery of a written notice to StreetWise Partners requesting a discontinuance of the photography release provision, such release will cease to apply to any actions or events which occur more than thirty (30) days after the delivery of such notice.
By Volunteering with StreetWise Partners, you agree to have read and understood the Program Expectations, Code of Conduct, Photography Release, and Survival of Obligations and Enforcement sections.
