Continued Professional Development Workshops

Once you have completed the Career Ventures program, you are eligible to participate in our monthly Continued Professional Development Workshops. These workshops provide continued support in the job search process as well as job retention support.

As each event only has so much space, and we often have people on waiting lists to participate, we are instituting a new attendance policy concerning these workshops.

Please plan your schedule before registering for an event! Please do NOT register for an event to place hold unless you are positive you can attend.
If you register for an event and can no longer attend, you must notify us a minimum of 24 hrs before the event is scheduled to take place.
If you cancel after this time, or do not show up, you will not be able to reserve a space at future workshops for three months.

We are instituting this policy in order to make sure that all interested people are able to take advantage of these networking opportunities and continued training.

Writing on the Job:

Saturday, February 11th, 12pm-2pm, CEB

This session is an introduction to business writing. You’ll learn expert tips and tricks to make sure that your professional communications — emails, memos, reports, or other documents — deliver your message and show off your writing skills.

Conflict Resolution:

Saturday, March 17th, 12pm-2pm, CEB

In every workplace, disagreements will happen. But how will you handle it? This workshop will provide the tools for you to be able to address workplace conflicts in a positive way. You’ll learn about active listening, creative problem-solving, and other methods to help you navigate conflicts successfully.

How To Be An Attractive Candidate:

Saturday, May 19th, 12pm-2pm, CEB

This workshop will help you get your application to the top of the pile! We’ll have guest-speakers who will provide advice and resources about challenges that may be keeping you from the job you want.
