Career Ventures

Hosted in New York City, Jersey City and Washington, DC.

The first three months of our program consists of an intensive Career Ventures course. This course is held for a few hours once a week for 13 weeks, and is a mix of classroom-style instruction and individual mentoring.

During the first three-month Career Ventures program, you will work with your two mentors to achieve the following hard and soft skills:

  • develop a business network
  • assess strengths and weaknesses
  • goal setting and planning - set short, mid and long term goals
  • develop a resume, cover letters and thank you notes
  • create an elevator pitch
  • participate in informational interviews
  • develop answers to common interview questions and practice extensively
  • participate in mock interviews and receive feedback
  • hone presentation skills
  • 16 hours of Microsoft Office suite computer instruction
  • improve their professional etiquette and personal presentation
  • build confidence and self-assurance

Above all, trainees stress that these first three months of our program helps them to set a career work-plan, and to build their confidence in themselves and their ability to visualize success and the achievement of their dreams.
